Welcome to Barkingham Palace! This cute and magical bed and breakfast is nestled on a back road in Simpsonville, Kentucky. The property possesses a beautiful man made pond and a cozy lookout. As I took my first steps into the home, I was in awe! The beautiful archways, the glass terrier window, the spiral staircases, and the semi-circle foyer area were the first sights that caught my attention. It is simply gorgeous!
A group of my friends and I got together for a Girl’s Night Out… Musical Style! It was awesome! The night started by picking out our alter-ego names. I was Groot…I would have made a better Mama Morton from the musical Chicago, but my weird self chose Groot! We sang, we ate, and we enjoyed each other’s’ company! Since it was a musical themed night out, we had to watch a musical…in their home theatre, where popcorn, candy, and drinks were provided from the host!
As I woke in the morning, Larry and Diana, the owners of this beautiful home, provided us with breakfast and good conversation. Both were very hospitable! Barkingham Palace has a unique name that suite the property well. The retired pilot, Larry, and the very crafty Diana, are the proud owners of four West Highland White Terriers who are super friendly. Max was my favorite, because he was such a feisty little one!
Larry and Diana encourage their guest to take a stroll around their property with their pups, which will not disappoint! The home has a lovely balcony, patio, and lookout. One of my favorite rooms they have is the lookout room. The wooden, spiral staircase takes you up to a small astronomy themed room that overlooks the man made pond!
Barkingham Palace is a wonderful place to visit for a lovely getaway! The owners are pleasant. The home is magical and a joy to explore. The lovely pups are adorable, and the grounds are breath taking! This is definitely a place that I would highly recommend!
