Life can be hectic and demanding! There is always something that is happening or going on. Life pulls you to the right when you need to go left. Our schedules are over booked, and we tend to leave little to no time for our families! Most of us are caught up in our circumstances and we often forget that there is a world out there that isn’t population ‘me’! These past couple of weeks I was one of those who was so caught up in my circumstances I forgot there was a whole world out there! I couldn’t focus and I would say things that I didn’t really mean. To break out of this funk we normally would do something that was out of the ordinary. Why? Well, because it is simply something different. It is out of our normal day to day activity that usually consumes us!
Today, we got out of our funk. We did something that was completely out of the norm, but yet it was simple. Lately, we have been trying to find ways to make life more fun and exciting (did I mention that I absolutely love my mom)! My mom had a great suggestion to go get some ice cream, but in a way that we have never done before! I am sure you have heard about the art of tail-gating. Well, this was somewhat like that, but with ice cream! We went to the store, bought our ice cream, and brought out the lawn chairs in the parking lot! It was so much fun! Whatever ingredients you wanted in your ice cream was chopped up and added into your cone! During that moment of awesomeness, everything else that was happening within my life didn’t matter. There were no concerns, thoughts, nor worries during that moment I was spending time with my family!
We often worry about how things are going to come about in our lives, but GOD says in Matthew 6:25, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what your will eat or what your will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” And if that wasn’t enough for you, He also tells us in verse 34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (I encourage you to read Matthew 6:25-34). We often rob ourselves from a lot of things because we worry about things that are out of our control. We can only do so much, and God will do the rest! Trust Him in everything! He knows what we need (verse 32)! In the mean-time, step out of your circumstances and go create some memories with your family and friends…even if it is just an ice cream trip! GBY and have a good one!
